Underneath “Import Subscribers from a File” the left navigation menu carries another utility based feature. This feature of Mumara helps to set customized criteria to filter/search particular records from the selected list(s), and exporting the filtered records to your computer in CSV format. Once you click on “Export Subscribers to a File”, the system puts the export subscribers screen on view, helping you with various options, for setting custom search criteria to filter the records and export. Let's get started.
Select one or multiple lists, before you start applying customized conditions/criteria to filter certain records from the selected list(s) and export to a .CSV. Select the desired list(s) by ticking the checkbox along with the name of each available list.
The scope and range of filter search results settings have already been discussed in “Delete Subscribers” and in "Segmentation". The scope and functionality will remain mostly the same with the addition or subtraction of few fields. By using the “Filter Search Results” you can explore the following options to filter the records while exporting the data to .CSV file.
Click the box next to “Unsubscribed”, a dropdown appears to select one of the three options (Doesn't Apply, Unsubscribed, Not Unsubscribed). The purpose of the selection of all three options is described in the table below.
Doesn't Apply | Select “Doesn't Apply” if you want to export all “Subscribers” without setting any preference for “Unsubscribed” contacts/records. Regardless of the fact that contacts are flagged as subscribed or unsubscribed, all records will be exported. |
Unsubscribed | To separate out “Unsubscribed” contacts, proceed by selecting “Yes” from the dropdown. Make this selection when are required to search and export unsubscribed contacts only. |
Not Unsubscribed | Select “Not unsubscribed” if you want to keep “Unsubscribed” contacts within the selected list(s) and export the rest of the subscribers. |
You can export the emails flagged as hard or soft bounce respectively, both hard and soft simultaneously, can exclude hard or soft bounced while exporting the .CSV. Following the same set of search principles as discussed above, the subscribers flagged as “Bounced” (Hard/ Soft) within the selected list(s), can be filtered and exported. The dropdown menu next to the “Bounced” helps setting up the following preferences with regard to the bounced emails within the selected lists.
Doesn't Apply | Selecting the option “Doesn't Apply” from the dropdown means that all the subscribers whether or not bounced (Hard/Soft), will be exported from the selected list(s). This selection will make sure that no filter is applied to the bounced within the selected lists. |
Hard | If the search is initiated by selecting “Hard” from the dropdown, the system will separate out the hard bounces only, from the selected list(s) to export to .CSV file. |
Soft | Filter the “Soft” bounces only from the selected list(s) to export. |
Both Hard/Soft | This option will separate all the bounces out from the selected list(s) to export, and this includes both hard and soft bounces. |
Not Bounced | Click to simply export the contacts that are not being flagged as bounced till now. |
Exclude Hard | Exclude the subscribers marked as hard bounced while exporting the records. |
Exclude Soft | Exclude the subscribers marked as soft bounced within the selected list(s) while exporting the records. |
Whenever the email bounced back, it bounces back with a reason and bounces code. We further categorize the bounced hard or soft as per the code and the reason it returned with. This filter will help you to separate out bounced emails with one particular bounce code and export them to a .CSV file. The dropdown carries the codes your emails are bounced with, select accordingly.
A very useful filter for the purpose to export a copy of cleaned and valid emails only. If you select "Relayed" from the dropdown, it will separate out all the relayed emails from the selected list and export them to the .CSV file, the way for you to have a cleaned list. Or you can also apply the filter on the "Failed" emails within the selected list(s).
Selection of the first option "Doesn't Apply" from the dropdown will export the records without applying any filter on relayed or failed records.
If you want to export all the subscribers from the selected list(s), ignore the two options (Email Contains/Doesn’t Contain) by keeping the fields empty. Also, don’t employ any of the advance filtration options given below the “Search Settings” like exporting of the subscribers who opened or clicked the campaign. (These features are discussed, soon after using email contains/ doesn't contain below)
The field next to “Email Contains” allows searching subscribers carrying some sought of commonality in their email addresses, like a domain name or local part (Before @) of email addresses.
It follows the same process as discussed above for “Email Contains”. It searches for the particular keyword or phrase to export, that the email addresses within the selected list(s) doesn't contain.
Figure#3.5.1: Filter Search Results
The recipients of one or more email campaigns who have opened the email which they have received are called openers; they are generally known as opens. Mumara offers a number of different options to search and export the opens. Opens of an email campaign constitutes the best email list to achieve optimal results.
The dropdown next to "Status" opens with three options to select the status of subscribers you want to filter and export. The following table discusses the three options.
All | It simply means, Export All without separating out opened or unopened contacts, so select to ignore the filter. Or select one of the following two options. |
Opened Only | Select to export only the opens from the selected list(s). |
Unopened Only | The third one from the dropdown is for exporting only the subscribers that haven’t been categorized as opens, thus considered as unopened across the selected list(s). |
Select one of the countries in the dropdown to further filter and export the opens based on their Geographical Location
Use "Start Date&Time" and "End Date&Time" fields to separate out and export opens between specific date and time. The following image demonstrates that the filter is set to segment opens between 02/01/16 (12:00 AM) to 04/01/16 (12:00 AM).

d) Filter Clicks/ Unclicked
The recipients of one or more email campaigns that not only opened the email they have received, but also have clicked on the link within the email message are called Clicks, Clickers, or Clicked, and the clicks of a particular email campaign constitutes the Click Through Rate of that particular campaign known as CTR. All the fields in the "Filter Clicks" sections are the same as discussed above for "Filter Opens". So work this way to filter "Clicks" as you earlier have learned to work with "Filter Opens/ Unopened".
e) Export Data from Particular Fields
Before you complete the process, make sure that you have selected the required fields to export custom fields data in the .CSV file. By default, only the emails of the subscribers or the data under the column of “Email” in the selected list(s) will be placed in the .CSV file and exported. If you want other fields to be placed and exported such as name or company etc. You need to tick the checkboxes along with every field name, as demonstrated in the image below. It offers you the way to control the number of fields to be exported in the .CSV.
Click "Export as CSV" to complete the process of the search for the required records from the fields and exporting them to .CSV.
