Backups and recovery strategies are valuable to prevent data loss during unexpected failures and fatal errors. Considering the importance of backups and recovery strategies, MUMARA has arranged an easily implementable automated and an around-the-clock backup module for its clients. Following is the step-by-step process of setting up backup schedules and storage areas. To begin with, click “Auto Backup” under the tools menu in the left navigation, see the following image.

Backup Settings
No matter how often you want to take the backups, once a month, twice a month, weekly or even daily, it is too easily implementable. Moreover, it does not just take the backup of the database but the complete MUMARA folder including the images, campaigns, etc.
Work the first button “Daily Backup” towards the right side to make the selection of the days in a week. You can select all 7 days to take daily backups or can choose one or more days to schedule your backups on that particular day of the week only.
Retain Daily Backup
Mention the number of backups you want to keep in the storage, each time after crossing the retention limit, the application automatically deletes the former backup to replace it with the current one. Like if the application is set to take backups on Sunday, Thursday, and Friday and the retention limit is 2 backups in storage, then while storing the backup for Friday, the application will first delete the backup for Sunday.

Unlike the above mentioned way of getting backups done on daily basis or on various occasions of the week, a weekly backup helps to backup your MUMARA folder once a week. It can be on Saturday, Sunday, or any other weekday. See the following figure.
Retain Weekly Backup
Mention the number of backups you want to keep in the storage, each time after crossing the retention limit, the application automatically deletes the former backup to replace it with the current one.

With a monthly backup set, you can schedule automated backups semi-monthly, on the 1st and 15th of the month, or once in a month, on the 1st or 15th of the month. Just work the buttons towards the right side to make your selection.
Retain Monthly Backup
Mention the number of backups you want to keep in the storage, each time after crossing the retention limit, the application automatically deletes the former backup to replace it with the current one.

After setting up the backup schedules, select the right backup drive according to your storage needs. The auto-backup module comes with the following backup transfer and storage facilities.
Fill in the following fields to login to your FTP for the scheduled backup storage. The button along with the FTP Backup needs to move towards the right to start the process, fields of the following table further elaborate on setting up your FTP server for the backup storage.

FTP Host | The hostname is required while connecting via FTP, the hostname mostly appears as ftp.yourdomain.com. |
FTP Username | Username to connect to your server via FTP, in order to transfer the backup to the desired location. |
FTP Password | The password associated with the FTP username mentioned in the above field |
FTP Port | Provide the FTP port here, the default and most used port for the FTP is 21 |
FTP Path | Provide the path to the already existing folder/ directory in your server for backup storage. The format of the path should start and end with the forward-slash (/) like /backup/. If you keep this field empty, you will get your backup files stored in your root directory. |
The auto backup module is seamlessly integrated with the cloud storage service Dropbox, where you get your schedule backup stored automatically as you connect your Dropbox account with the backup module. To begin with, work the button along with the Dropbox settings towards the right, and follow the steps below.

To connect your Dropbox account with MUMARA for backup storage, the first step is to grant the Dropbox account permission. Click the link with says “Click here” to start the process, see the following figures.

Once you click the above mentioned link, you will be redirected to the page in the following figure to either Sign in to Dropbox or create a new Dropbox account if you don’t have an account.

Upon providing correct sign-in information, the MUMARA auto-backup module will create a folder in the Apps section of your Dropbox and the following message will appear on your screen.

Once you allow MUMARA auto-backup module to access its own folder in your Dropbox by clicking “Allow”, it will return with the permission code as shown in the Figure below.

Copy that permission code and return it to the interface of the MUMARA backup module, paste that code in its respective field, as shown in the following figure.

Upon completing the process of connecting to the FTP server or Dropbox account, press “Submit” to submit the information or press “Run Now” to enable running backup schedules on the very next instance, when the cron completes the set interval, irrespective of the schedule you have set for the job to run.
